Preparing for date, especially if it’s a first one can be unnerving. The tips here will help you look your best on any date you go.

Prepare Some Conversation Starters

Spend time to catch up with current events and hot topics before your date. These will make good conversation starters and you will be able to impress your date with your knowledge. Try to remember as much as you can about previous conversations together so you can follow up on them, be it a difficult project they were working on, or their best friends hair disaster. Have a couple of funny stories or conversation pieces up your sleeve in case you need them.

Go for a Groomed Appearance

You will feel more confident if you look your best so set time aside for exercise in the days before the date and eat well. Be sure to get plenty of early nights to appear radiant and refreshed. When the day arrives, bathe well and ensure your hair and nails are neat and tidy. You should smell good, but not overwhelming, thus, avoid heavy perfumes and aftershaves if you can; your date could be allergic.

For the ladies, go easy on the makeup, preferably a more natural look. Should the relationship go any further, you won’t want to give him a shock if he sees you without makeup one day.

Always plan your outfit well in advance to avoid any last minute panics when you realize you have a spaghetti stain down your favorite shirt. You don’t necessarily have to overdress to look good. Wear something presentable and you are comfortable with as it makes it easier for you to relax.

Don’t Be Late, and Simply Enjoy Yourself

Be positive, and don’t start worrying about what disasters could happen. You are out to enjoy yourself after all. If you are feeling nervous, call a good friend, watch your favorite comedy show, or listen to upbeat music, anything to distract your mind. Just think of all the fun you will have and simply enjoy it. Oh, and don’t forget to be punctual! You’re bound to bad start if you keep your date waiting, so give yourself ample time to get there and be early.
